OK folks... dear supporters of SAVE ME. We are doing well, but not well enough yet.
The only way I can see, of gathering enough support in the short time left before the election, is to treat this like a pyramid scheme. Yes, I know; pyramid schemes are nasty ways of making money for a lot of unprincipled people. But for a completely non-profit-making project to save animals, it seems to me we can turn this idea on its head.
All of us who have signed up here want our voice to be heard... the voice which represents the dignity of animals. The support we need for our views exists already, OUT THERE. At least 75 per cent of Britons are on our side. That's about 45 million people. The only hard thing is getting them all to realise what is happening, in the 3 weeks left before Election Day. If we can just harness the power of the great majority of animal lovers in this country we CAN still make a difference. We are in the right. That helps too.
OK... will you try it with me? Here’s how it works. Each one of us, every day, for the next three weeks, tries to get ONE friend to sign up to the SAVE ME Facebook page. Just one every day, but without fail. AND – and this is vital – each new friend (or do they call it ‘fan’) we need to ask to do the same thing... sign up one new friend every day. It doesn’t sound very much. But if everybody did this religiously every day, in only seven days we would go from 2,000 members to a quarter of a million. And if this continued – we would get to a million by day number 9. And if a million people collectively said to all our politicians “We will vote for you ONLY if you pledge to use your influence to keep the Hunting Act in place”. I think they would HAVE to listen.
Wanna try this?! Right now? Of course if we enlist MORE than one new member each day, the numbers will grow even quicker... but the important thing is that the message gets passed on...
