Chris Packham and conservation lobby bias against badgers and grey squirrels

7 May 2011
PLEASE PASS WIDELY-COMPLAINTS NEEDED TO BBC AND CHRIS PACKHAM

Chris Packham (a patron of a number of wildlife rescue charities) promoted the most appalling and shocking bias against badgers and grey squirrels in his new programme 'Animals Guide to Britain' this evening.

First of all Chris Packham blames the protected status of badgers (21 mins 43 in) on a decline in hedgehog numbers. As well as this being a load of nonsense it was wonderful publicity for every badger persecutor, pro cull farmer and politician!

He then goes on a grey squirrel cull and has lunch with a ‘pest controller’(46 mins onwards)

It was typical conservation lobby nonsense paraded as fact.

Here is a man who paints an image of himself as Mr. Wildlife cheerfully going along with the massacre grey squirrels and sowing falsehoods about badgers-which have coexisted with hedgehogs for 1000s of years.

Of course he did not mention the countless hedgehogs killed by shooting estates-that would be far too awkward for the BBC it seems!

The NFU and other pro-cull groups have been feeding the media the nonsense about badgers wiping out hedgehogs since 2007. This programme was another biased feature.

The conservation lobby, in league with elements in the countryside lobby, wants to kill so-called 'non-native' species and is on a roll at the moment and getting plenty of help from their friends at the BBC.

Chris Packham's appalling programme was more evidence of the attempt by the media to denigrate both badgers and grey squirrels.
